Google Classroom - Signing In & Joining a Class

Sign in for the first time:

  1. Go to Click Here for Google Classroom.
  2. Click Go to Classroom.
  3. Enter the email address for your Classroom account.
  4. Click Next.
  5. Enter your password.
  6. Click Next.
  7. If there is a welcome message, review it.
  8. Click Accept.
  9. If you're using a Google Workspace for Education account, click I’m A Student or I’m A Teacher.
    Tip: Users with personal Google Accounts won’t find this option.
  10. Click Get Started.

Google Meet - Student’s View
*You may be recorded on your Google Meet

Make sure you are signed into your CCSD Google account.

  1. If your teacher posts a link to a Google Meet to Google Classroom
    1. Go to Google Classroom
    2. Click on the URL that your teacher posted.
    3. Click the green Join meeting button.
    4. When asked to allow access to your camera and microphone, make sure to allow access.
  2. Participating in your Meet session
    1. Click on the microphone button at the bottom of the screen to mute your microphone until you need to speak to the group.
    2. You will click it to unmute when you need to.
    3. You can also turn your camera on and off with the camera icon.
    4. The red phone icon is to leave the Meet.
    5. Turn on captions to make spoken words in the session appear on the screen.
    6. If you need to show your screen, click the Present now icon and then select the Your entire screen.
  1. Click on the screen you wish to share in the popup window. Then click Share.
  2. To stop sharing your screen, click Stop sharing at the bottom of your screen.
